The L-CAT EVO can be programmed to slide into a terminal to avoid the tip coming into contact with
the terminal in the case that it may be bent. This is accomplished by programming the joint as a slide
solder joint vs. a point solder. The slide solder programming takes two steps per joint. A START step
and an END step. The table & photos below will help illustrate the programming locations and steps.

Slide towards terminal
Slide Step 01:
The iron tip should be programmed
approx. 1 mm away from the pin or
on the edge of the pad. This is done
to compensate for any angle that the
pin / terminal may be leaning.
When programming a slide solder
step, you will see a set of brackets
[ ] in the WORK field. These
brackets are for a programmed delay
to allow the solder to start feeding
prior to the tip moving. The table
below shows a delay of 0.3 seconds.
A delay setting of 0.1 ~ 0.3 should
work for your application
The second step of the slide should be
programmed in the normal location that
you would program the tip for point
soldering. The iron tip will move
towards the terminal between steps 01 &
02. You will also need to program a
slide speed. A speed of 5 ~ 15 mm /
second should be programmed to allow
the iron tip to move towards the terminal
at a slow rate of speed to prevent any
damage to the iron tip, terminal or solder
mask. The rate of speed to be
programmed for slide step 01 should be
the normal speed of approx. 250 mm/sec
Slide speed = 5 mm / sec.
Feed delay of 0.3 seconds
Slide solder profile = 201
Slide step 2 programmed

End of slide solder sequence is always 200
Slide step 1 programmed Y
